Movie Summary
"Lorie" (lullaby), what every mother sings caressingly to put her child to sleep. What every woman desires, to be a mother, to look with love filled eyes on her sleeping child. Geeta Malhotra (Shabana Azmi) had defied her father to marry Bhupi (Farooque Shaikh). She thought that her cup of happiness was full. It was half full. She was barren. She yearned for a child. A yearning that drove her to bring home a child left behind in a city bus. She had found her happiness, but the distraught parents of the lost child with the help of the law found Geeta. She was arrested. Her friend Micky (Naseeruddin Shah) the advocate believed that she was the image of motherhood incarnate. But the law believed otherwise. Can the law deliver justice where an act of nature has crippled a soul? Is a verdict of guilty or not guilty the only way the law works?
