Movie Summary
Sandook is a satirical comic thriller set in pre-independence era in a small town called Sambalgarh. The main protagonist Wamanrao Ashtaputre is a simple honest man with dreams of getting rid of the British Raj. Wamanrao Ashtaputre, belongs to the great Ashtaputre family; which have or allege to have participated in the freedom struggle whether it is against the Mughals or the Portuguese or even the British. He always harbors thoughts of doing something for the freedom struggle but by his very nature is a simpleton. Sambalgarh the village he stays in has been the epicenter for all revolutions and when the British decide to send an officer to keep the place calm; is when Wamanrao Ashtaputre finds within himself to stand tall against him and get rid of the british from his village once and for all forms the rest of the story.
