Movie Summary
Anand: Anand Saigal (Rajesh Khanna), an unusual, interesting man, who lived what remained of his life fully, completely. Treating every living moment as magic, every minute a miracle, every hour a gift. A man whose life inspired his friend Dr. Bhaskar banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan) to write a book that wins the coveted Saraswati Award. Anand Saigal is a terminally ill, cancer patient, who with his non stip chatter, boisterous humour, and never say die attitude touches the lives of everyone he comes in contact with. His metaphorical search for his long lost friend Murarilal is the high point of the film. One of the India's finest directors, Hrishikesh Mukherjee teams up with Gulzar as lyricist and dilaogue writer to give us some of the best lines in Hindi Cinema and some hauntingly lovely songs. It plays on your heartstrings, but in the end you will agree, "Anand lives on". Mili: Mili (Jaya Bhaduri), an exuberant, teenage girl with an infectious zest for life. Shekhar (Amitabh Bachchan), a brooding recluse. Dogged by a scandal, he discouraged and shunned all contacts with people. When Shekhar moved into the terrace flat of the building where they had their fun and games. But Mili worked away presistently at Shekar. The scandal did not matter to her. Her magic worked on Shekhar. Gadually he started coming out of he shell. Then fell in love. And tragedy struck again. He was prepared to run away. But love works in strange ways. He stayed back. To give something or some time to someone who gave everything. Giving is all that matters in love. There is noting too little or too big. Alaap: This is a story of Aloke Prasad, a highly sensitive boy, deeply involved in the study of music. It is about his life that takes him through trials and tribulations as he rejects the system and de-classes himself. It is a story of a conflict between two generations. But above all Alaap is the story of music.
